Mendaera has raised $73 million to advance its handheld robotics platform, designed for procedures like biopsies, organ access, and pain management. Co-founded by former Auris Health executives, the Silicon Valley company combines robotics, AI, and imaging to simplify common but complex medical procedures.
The platform allows medical professionals to plan and execute interventions with precision, reducing the skill required for tasks like biopsies, while offering near millimeter-level accuracy. Mendaera aims to alleviate bottlenecks caused by the scarcity of skilled proceduralists, ultimately reducing healthcare costs. With backing from key investors, including Auris founder Fred Moll, the company is on track to submit its platform for FDA approval in 2025.
